Pre-Wedding tips & Prep

WHEN SHOULD THE PHOTOGRAPHERS START?

We like to begin taking photos when the bride is nearly done her hair & makeup, but not quite. This ensures we get the necessary “getting ready” photos, and also have some time to capture detail shots of the rings and any other accessories.

prep your getting-ready space.

When getting ready, we suggest choosing a location that is bright and spacious with lots of natural light. Some bride & grooms opt for an AirBnb or hotel room to get ready in. Regardless of the space you choose, please make sure you keep the space as clean as possible to avoid any clutter in the background of photos.

Prep your Props.

Have any wedding accessories you’d like photos of neatly set aside and on-hand when we arrive. This streamlines the process and ensures we don’t miss any shots. You can include: invitations, rings, jewelry, bow ties, shoes, watches, perfume, purses, and whatever else is special to you!

The first look.

If you are still unsure on doing a first look - we very highly suggest it! Not only does it mean more photo opportunities for the two of you, but it’s an extra special intimate moment away from the crowd. Seeing each other privately before the altar can relieve a lot of the anxiety and stress you may experience.

Photo etiquette.

We highly recommend telling your guests in advance to refrain from pulling out their phone during the ceremony (or other special moments) to take photos. Reassure them that you’ve hired trusted professionals to capture the day - they will be able to enjoy the moment even more without a phone in their hands!

Relax & enjoy.

This will be one of the most special and memorable days of your life. Everything will go just fine. Enjoy the moment!
